Served up Daily!

Back Logo

NEW T-SHIRTS IN FOR THE 2012-2013 YEAR!
The club just got in our new tees and they are for sale tho the public for $15 a piece. The shirts were made with a focus on comfort first, style second. They are a navy blue tag-less tee, with a front left chest pocket and the classic 'NC Skate' lettering embroidered on the pocket. The back is the large logo shown above, drawn by Alex Isenburger and rendered by Rob Russell.

To get your own limited edition tee email skateboarding-club@ncsu.edu with the size and quantity of shirts. The price is set a $15 ea. no exceptions, delivery included.

Technically, the back should read '(G)narwhal served daily!', but this is obviously a new breed of gnarly mammals that we are harboring here, so grab a beer and kick it with a hearty serving of Gnarwhale.

This is a sick magazine for the homies, by the homies out of the Philly area. Pages 23-25 consist of NC Skate- Campus Orientation article, but I would recommend checking out the whole mag. It's a good one.

North Carolina State Brainwash...

To celebrate our success from this past 2011-2012 academic year, NC Skate is teaming with Simplistix Skateboards to release our first ever limited edition club model board. Artwork was done by NCSU student and club member Ian Cochrane. This is a preview of what the board is going to look like. This is not the final product, as there are a few touch-ups to be made but other than that feast your eyes on history.
The boards will be sold at a variety of shops throughout NC(thanks for your support!) at the price of a typical board in the shop.
More importantly we will be launching a 'Kickstarter' program to raise money to mass produce these boards and other NC Skate items. The link will be up within the next couple weeks. For anyone not familiar with Kickstarter, it is a online service for small business start-up and aspiring artists, filmmakers, etc. We set a $ amount goal and a deadline where anyone can make donations to the club. There are different levels of donations, where for each amount donated you receive compensation in the form of boards, shirts, shoutouts at our events, stickers, and/or you will be put on a special donor list that will visible on NC State's Campus and online. However, if our goal is not meet by the deadline, we are dropped from Kickstarter and you will be refunded ANY and ALL donations which you had made... like it never happened... But we know that wont happen and NC Skate will execute like we always do!

Stay posted for updates and we encourage everyone to give their opinion on the graphic in the comment box below.

The Golden Mean

As skateboarders it is sometimes hard to gain support at a college university. The Skateboarding Club at NC State in Raleigh, NC is working to make skateboarding a hot commodity at universities everywhere. Not saying that skateboarding should be a marketing gimmick or even controlled, in anyway, by the universities; but wouldn't it be sick if students coming out of high school could be like, "I want to go to this school because of the skate club there." OR "..because of their skatepark on campus." OR "...because of the skateboarding scholarship they offer." OR simply "...because of the people that skate there and the good vibes."
If your school does not have a skateboard organization, START ONE, get money from your school, and make something happen.
Invest in skateboarding.

The revolution might be televised...

Untitled from Wolf TV on Vimeo.

This is a video that has been playing on WolfTV, NC State's local TV station. It is from our Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Contest back in October, which was a huge success. We raised over $400 for CFF of Raleigh through that event. This video uses a bit of a different approach than we usually use, but hey, it got us onto your cablevision, didn't it?
